Oct 03, 2019  In the last month we've continued to make steady progress in our quest to run 32-bit Windows programs in a 64-bit Mac process, so they can work on macOS Catalina (10.15). As previously described in an earlier blog post, Catalina doesn't support running 32-bit processes, which is what we've always used in the past for running 32-bit Windows.

Symptoms or Error

After upgrading macOS to Catalina 10.15.4, a dialog box will prompt the end user with the following message:
  • Existing software on your system loaded a system extension signed by 'Citrix Systems, Inc.' which will be incompatible with a future version of macOS. Contact the developer for support.

Please note this is an example of the dialog box; 'DEVELOPER_NAME' would be Citrix Systems, Inc. instead.:

Problem Cause

USB Generic redirection is the main component utilizing kernel extensions. Apple is deprecating the use of Kernel extensions in upcoming releases of macOS.
The warning is to inform us before moving forward with the deprecation.
In the event Apple deprecates it in the next release, only Generic USB redirection will be affected, and will not allow the use of said feature.
